Josh Pudaloff wrote on the CSTA Chapters: Michigan wall: MICSTA is scheduled to meet again on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 at 6:00 ET. We have much to discuss and share with a lot going on in computer science in Michigan. The meeting will take place at Divine Child High School in Dearborn. Meeting details and the directions follow. Dave Swenson will be sharing how he used Ozobots to do a series of lessons to introduce programming in his math classes. We plan to have participants complete a series of programming challenges with the Ozobots. Dave will include a discussion of how these tie back to the concepts and content of his courses. Please try to bring a laptop or tablet to program the Ozobots. We will have some extras on hand just in case. Divine Child High School is at 1001 N. Silvery Ln., Dearborn, MI 48128. The best place to park will be in the parking lot on the south side of the building right next to the soccer field. The door marked with a 4 will be unlocked. It is on the south side of the building near the back of the building. We will be meeting in Room 121 which is just inside that door.

TEALS is a free program that pairs high schools with software engineers who serve as part-time computer science teachers. The program was started in 2009 by Microsoft and I have heard nothing but great reviews and recommendations. TEALS school applications are open for the 2018-2019 school year for any schools that may be interested in partnering with TEALS!
