Laura Dillon wrote on the CSTA Chapters: Michigan wall: Hello All. I'm pasting a message from Ruthe Farmer. Please consider getting involved to make the 2018 CS4All Summit in Detroit a big success and help this great consortium achieve its goals in bringing CS educational opportunities to all children regardless of their socio-economic status! ------------------------------ Happy New Year! We are pleased to share that the CSforAll Consortium will be bringing the national CSforALL Summit (http://csforallconsortium.org/) to Detroit in October 2018. The CSforALL team will be visiting January 16 and 17 to launch the planning process. They are interested in connecting with community members active in tech education and workforce development, K-12 computer science and coding education, and diversity and inclusion in technology in the Detroit metro region and Michigan while they are here. You can learn about the 2017 CSforALL Summit at summit.csforall.org including the livestream archive (http://csforallconsortium.org/livestreamschedule/) and infographic (http://www.csforall.org/summitinfographic/). There will be a community meet & greet Tuesday, January 16 at 5pm to learn more about this upcoming event and opportunities to engage. Josh Pudaloff wrote on the CSTA Chapters: Michigan wall: Hello everyone, I'm passing along the information below about this fantastic opportunity from Andrew Spiece, TEALS Regional Manager. TEALS is a free program that pairs high schools with software engineers who serve as part-time computer science teachers. The program was started in 2009 by Microsoft and I have heard nothing but great reviews and recommendations. TEALS school applications are open for the 2018-2019 school year for any schools that may be interested in partnering with TEALS! Connect through the below link or with Andrew directly. https://www.tealsk12.org/schools/ Andrew Spiece Michigan Regional Manager, TEALS (810) 813-0363 andrew@tealsk12.org

Josh Pudaloff wrote on the CSTA Chapters: Michigan wall: Bill Barnum, who teaches high school computer science in Illinois, is in the process of creating some video tutorials as resources for AP Computer Science A and Alice 3. He wanted to share what he has created so far, and is hoping to get feedback from other computer science teachers to make improvements and fill in any gaps. If have anyone has interest check them out and share any feedback with Bill.
