Infosys Foundation USA and CSTA Announce Continuing Professional Development Pipeline

Infosys Foundation USA ( and CSTA, the Computer Science Teachers Association (, are pleased to announce the creation of a Continuing Professional Development Pipeline project.


The pipeline will provide valuable resources for teachers, districts, professional development providers and students. The pipeline will create professional development-based communities, certify professional development completion in the form of digital badging certificates and track professional development over time using a digital portfolio that assists a teacher in selecting future professional development options. The funds support the establishment of new positions at CSTA focusing on professional development. “Many K-12 teachers are new to teaching computer science, but come from the ranks of existing teachers. They already know how to teach, and now they need to learn how to teach content in a field that is new to them. CSTA’s Continuing Professional Pipeline Project enables K-12 teachers to grow their confidence and competence at teaching computer science,” said Mark Nelson, Executive Director of CSTA.


Infosys Foundation USA and CSTA are excited to begin this partnership, focusing on teacher-related professional development. As the need for computer science education continues to grow, it is important teachers have dependable resources.
