Libraries are also still places to borrow books. It is important that students have access to books with people that look like them. During the latest #csk8 chat, moderators Vicky Sedgwick and Kristeen Shabram tackle the importance of libraries and their connection to computer science.

- Why should libraries provide opportunities for 5-14-year-olds to learn computer science/coding? What could/does this look like and what advantages does it offer?
- Take a look at both the CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards and the AASL Standards Framework for Learners. What do you notice about where CS teachers and librarians could work together?
- Libraries are also still places to borrow books. It is important that students have access to books with people that look like them. What books should be in libraries in your community that inspire and show diversity and inclusion in computer science?
- Libraries are and have always been, at the heart of communities, inspiring youth to be lifelong learners. Beyond what has been mentioned, what can libraries do to help ignite the spark in students to want to learn more about CS?
- We need the expertise and wisdom of librarians and CS teachers. We are planning a book study the next few months of #csk8 chat on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. What book would you suggest we study together to improve our practice as teachers of CS?
