At CSTA, our Board of Directors is focused on developing a strong environment to support our members and for moving the organization forward. I’m proud to have worked alongside these board members to launch new initiatives to secure CSTA’s continued success.
In July, we said goodbye to some of our board members and welcomed new faces. I’d like to thank these outgoing members for their years of dedication and service:
  • Fred Martin, Past CSTA Board Chair
  • Michelle Lagos, At-Large Representative
  • Miles Berry, International Representative
  • Anthony Owen, State Department Representative

Serving on the board of an organization like CSTA is a big commitment in normal times, and this group was all essential in seeing us through momentous transitions and growth. Over my time at CSTA each of you was ready to step in and help out when I asked for guidance and advice.
Michelle consistently pushed to keep the teacher’s experience at the forefront of the organization and gave perspective on global growth for CSTA. Miles co-chaired the launch of our new PD committee, providing a valuable resource for teachers looking to grow their craft. Anthony has kept a keen eye out for the long-term future of the organization and is never afraid of asking the tough question that needs to be addressed.
Fred, you took a chance on me for this job and were ready to dig in early on when every day brought a new challenge for the organization. Thanks for your patience as I was learning which way was up, your ability to take a step back and see the bigger picture and your deep commitment to CSTA and K-12 CS education.
I’d like to congratulate K-8 Representative Kristeen Shabram and 9-12 Representative Amy Fox on their re-elections. I’d also like to welcome our newest faces to the Board:
  • Cindi Chang, State Department Representative
  • Natasa Grgurina, International Representative
  • Monica McGill, College/University Representative
  • Janice Mak, At-Large Representative
  • Michelle Page, Treasurer
As we move into a new fiscal year, I look forward to working with the Board to continue CSTA’s trajectory of growth and to support our members.
