The Center for Women in Technology (CWIT) at UMBC is pleased to invite high-achieving high school girls who are interested in pursuing computing and engineering majors to campus for a couple of events this fall.
The Cyber 101 Program is accepting applications from high school senior girls (some juniors may be selected as well) who are interested in computing and who would like to learn more about the field of cybersecurity. .
Participants will interact with college students, participate in hands-on cybersecurity activities, and more. This event is a free, overnight experience and students will stay in our CWIT Living-Learning Community on campus Saturday, September 29, until Sunday, September 30. The program will begin around 12pm on Saturday and end in the early afternoon on Sunday.
Students must fully complete this online application by September 18 to be considered for the program. Notifications will be sent out by Friday, September 21, 2018. Those with questions should contact Cindy Greenwood at email@example.com.
Join us for the Building Excellence through Scholarships in Technology: An Event For High School Girls Interested in Engineering & Technology

This opportunity includes a chance for students to learn more about the four year scholarships through the CWIT and Cyber Scholars Programs, learn from UMBC faculty about engineering and computing majors, hear from current Scholars about their research and internship experiences, and learn how to be a competitive applicant in the Scholar selection process. During this event, parents/guardians will also hear from Admissions, Financial Aid, the Honors College, a student panel, and more.

In addition to bringing high school students to UMBC, we are also interested in visiting students at their schools.
