CS4CT Summit 2019

Computer Science, a Roadmap to Success

Hosted by CT Computer Science Teachers Association (CTCSTA) in partnership with Sacred Heart University

 

CS4CT Summit 2019 is designed to support and empower district and school administrators, curriculum leaders and school counselors with resources and strategies for building and strengthening computer science pathways and curriculum across K-12.

 

Participate in CS4CT Summit 2019 to gain knowledge, resources and support for successfully implementing CS curriculum in your district.

 

Summit topics to include:

  • The importance and relevance of CS education and why it must be taught across K-12

  • Adding computer science to the school day, including identifying where CS education fits within the school building, developing a CS pathway, training staff and recruiting students

  • Incorporating/integrating CS into existing curriculum

  • Current efforts underway by the CT State Dept of Education to promote CS education, including standards, teacher certification and graduation requirements

  • Aligning district curriculum with the new K-12 CS Standards, including vertical alignment across grade bands

  • CS curricular resources to bring back to your school districts

  • Promoting equity and inclusion in computer science education

  • Strategies for recruiting female and minority students to broaden participation in CS

Summit Registration:

  • Individual Registration - $150 per person
  • Group Registration - $450 per group. School districts registering a team of four (4) persons will receive a group discount, whereby the fourth attendee can participate free of charge.
