CSTA encourages schools, districts, and states to demonstrate that their curricula provide alignment to the learning standards detailed in the CSTA K–12 Computer Science Standards. We also encourage researchers and vendors creating materials to support K–12 computer science education to do the same.
Prior to claiming alignment with the CSTA K-12 CS Standards, you must have your content approved by the CSTA Curriculum Task Force. The Task Force will conduct a crosswalk to determine if your content, product, or curriculum is aligned with the Standards.
Who conducts the alignment study/curriculum crosswalk?
The CSTA Board of Directors Curriculum Committee conducts extensive crosswalks to verify that products, resources, or standards are aligned to the CSTA K-12 CS Standards. The committee provides recommendations about why the product or service may or may not be aligned, as well as action items for improvement and alignment. Approved curricula can be posted to the CSTA website per request.
How long does the crosswalk process take?
Reviews typically take 6-8 weeks.
How much does a CSTA curriculum crosswalk cost?
CSTA is pleased to offer one curriculum crosswalk at no additional cost to our institutional members who represent non-profit organizations. For all others, the corresponding fees appear below. Please note that curriculum crosswalk fees are independent of membership dues and are assessed per each crosswalk submitted for review.
- For-profit organization (CSTA Institutional Member): $500 per each crosswalk submitted for review.
- For-profit organization (non-institutional member): $1,000 per each crosswalk submitted for review.
- Non-profit organization (non-institutional member): $500 per each crosswalk submitted for review.
