Whether you are a K–12 computer science teacher or advocate, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved with and give back to CSTA! New opportunities will be posted throughout the year, so keep an eye out in our communications for more information.

Serve on a Committee

Help shape the future of CSTA by serving on one of our committees! Every committee is a little different; in general, committee members participate in one virtual meeting a month and approximately 2 hours of additional work outside of those meetings.
  • Conference: Help shape the program and experience of CSTA’s Annual Conference.
  • Professional Development: Evaluate and select among submitted professional development opportunities.
  • Membership: Help evaluate current benefits offered and determine a plan for strategizing different CSTA benefits to further membership growth.
  • Standards Alignment: Help evaluate curriculum offerings and alignment to the CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards.
  • Chapter Leaders: Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities for other CSTA chapter leaders.
  • CS Honor Society (CSHS) Advisory: Shape the CSHS program and help plan and facilitate support to CSHS advisors.

Volunteer as a CSTA Membership Ambassador

Become a leader and mentor in the CS community to our newest members. As an Ambassador you will help welcome them into the association and connect new members to programs, activities, and chapters. You’ll be paired with a new member to help them start their CSTA journey off right!

Share Your Voice

Grow CSTA’s Voice by sharing yours! We’re looking members to share their stories both as authors and resources to interviews. Read more about how to submit to CSTA’s The Voice and to be added to our source pool.

We’re also looking for volunteers to serve on our Editorial Board, where you’ll have the opportunity to shape the editorial calendar for The Voice and to source and write content.

Join Your Local Chapter

CSTA local chapters build community among computer science teachers who are often isolated in their communities. Find your community by joining your local chapter. Don’t see a chapter in your area? Try searching by just the two letter-state abbreviations to see all of the local chapters in your state, some chapters are statewide! Still no luck? Reach out to chapters@csteachers.org to find out how you can spearhead a chapter, or to learn more about our virtual meetups.

Start a Computer Science Honor Society (CSHS)

For CS Advocates

Sponsor CSTA

Your organization can play a valuable and impactful role in our annual flagship program that convenes thousands of PreK-12 CS teachers, trainers, and administrators for a high-quality CS learning experience. The event is an outstanding opportunity for workforce development-focused companies to exhibit and show their support for CS/STEM education. This event has more than tripled in size since 2018, with 2,500+ attendees from around the world joining for our first ever 2020 Virtual Conference. As a 2021 conference partner you can:
  • Sponsor the annual conference, connect with attendees, access notable presentation and branding opportunities
  • Exhibit and offer your newest products and resources to help attendees prepare for the next school year
  • Invest in our scholarship fund for educators who face significant budget barriers to accessing professional development opportunities outside of the classroom

Join as an Institutional Partner

Join the CSTA community as an institutional partner to enhance our members’ experience with curricular resources, professional development, opportunities for continuing education, and products. See the impact of your support and raise awareness and visibility by:
