Volunteer Your Time With CSTA
We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to give their time back to further the mission of CSTA!
Consider giving back in one of these roles:

- Chapter Leadership Committee Member: Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities for other CSTA chapter leaders. Must be an active chapter leader to apply.
- CS Honor Society (CSHS) Committee Member: Shape the CSHS program and help plan and facilitate support to CSHS advisors.
- CSTA Awards Reviewer: Review submissions for the CSTA/ACM Cutler-Bell Prize and CS Teaching Excellence Awards.
- CSTA Conference Committee: Be a part of the team that makes CSTA’s conference great! This group of volunteers selects the conference program and drives the vision for the onsite attendee experience. Will accept applications in spring 2022.
- CSTA Conference Reviewer: Help shape the program and experience of CSTA’s Annual Conference. Currently accepting applications.
- CSTA Editorial Board Member: Shape the editorial calendar for The Voice and source and write content.
- CSTA Equity Fellow Reviewer: Help select the next cohort of Equity Fellows.
- Membership Committee Member: Help evaluate current benefits offered and determine a plan for strategizing different CSTA benefits to further membership growth.
- Policy: Vet, develop, and/or adopt a set of endorsed equitable policy recommendations. Develop a toolkit to support CSTA chapter leaders and members on effectively advocating for these policy recommendations at the state level.
- Professional Development Committee Member: Vet PD opportunities and make easy for teachers to find quality programs that meet their needs. Research and report on trends among current opportunities, and provide guidance for and community among PD providers.
- Reflective Teachers: Develop use or case studies to demonstrate effective and equitable teaching practice and teacher self-reflection in written and video format.
- Standards Alignment Committee Member: Help evaluate curriculum offerings and alignment to the CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards.
Every committee is a little different; in general, committee members participate in one virtual meeting a month and approximately 2 hours of additional work outside of those meetings. Award reviewers should expect to commit 2-3 hours of work at several points throughout the year.
